December is here!

“Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.” -V-

Sorry, but I love Hugo Weaving’s monologue as V from the astounding 2005 movie V For Vendetta.  A truly tongue-twisting few lines of script that after hearing it just once it still sticks in my mind since I saw it in theatres late ’05.  I recently watched the Blu-Ray edition of the movie with my roomates and as the movie ended I kept myself from clapping, instead dwelling on the integral message the movie delivers, or tries to, as not everyone listens nowadays.  Anyways, the message I got from this film, as with many others that freedom, while not always tangible, can never die as long as there are those willing to sacrifice all for what is right.

Like I said, this is just what I took from the film, I urge anyone who hasn’t seen the movie take a careful look at it and then glance at what some of the decisions our own U.S. Government is making at the time.  While I’m sure alot of folks out there are thinking I am full of hooey I ask you to hear me out. Something is happening on Capitol Hill, and has been happening since Reagan left office. Some sort of idea that a better nation is a nation full of Politically Correct people whose only want in life is government handouts taken from hard-working, middle-class workers (most of us out here) and given to those who just don’t have any drive in life but to complain that they just deserve to be given everything you and I work for. Sorry to rant y’all, but I think that borders on the increasingly perforated line of Socialism. But never fear, this isn’t the end as many are making it seem. Your rights will stay intact, as will your freedoms. That is until they don’t, and that day is slowly coming. I hope you all enjoyed this rant and I hope you agree something is wrong. Due to Political Correctness I won’t say what that something is, but surely you know. Thank you and I leave you with another line from the amazing movie V for Vendetta.

“Remember, remember the 5th of November, The Gunpowder Treason and Plot, I see no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot.”
