‘Ello folks!

1 08 2008

It’s been waaaay to long since I last posted a blog and I’m sorry for you folks out there that actually read it every so often.  But I’ve been a bit busy and my internet at home has been down for me, so here I am at work, when I should probably be folding towels but oh well, it won’t take me five minutes.  Quick update in my life:  It’s been increasingly boring.  All I seem to do lately is work, go home and fall asleep watching CNN or FoxNews.  It has been nice though, I find myself getting more and more interested in the direction this country seems to be going and frankly, it saddens me.  I honestly don’t know if I am going to vote in this upcoming election because none of the candidates have the common man in mind for their potential presidency.  It may be just me, ( I surely hope not ) but neither McCain, Obama or Paul have anything to offer my generation.  Tax cuts and high tariffs are not what the twenty-somethings are interested in right now, but we should be.  The tax cut Obama is proposing seems like a good idea at first glance but if you look at another policy of his, namely his strong support of the ethanol tariff, they balance out eventually down the road.  Sure, for right now it would help, but in just four years the tax cut would start leading into the negatives for most of us Americans.  But back to the real issue, we need a President that can not only lead us, but lead us well.  A President that will unify this country because we admire him for his admiration of the American Spirit.  Not our pocketbooks or someone else’s agenda.  But this elections’ candidates do not have that ability to unify our country, at least not for the right reasons.  I believe a black man should not vote for Mr. Obama simply because there is finally an eloquent, presidential black man running for office.  If you really want to get fired up by a black man, just take a gander at Mr. Alan Keyes.  He is by far the most passionate man I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.  Keyes is a true eye-opener with his speeches and the political world hates him for it.  They hate him because he is a threat to their lack-a-daisy system of controlling us with wanton promises and lackluster drivel that they call policy.  I want a passionate leader to represent me.  I want a leader that acts with ME in mind.  I want a leader that takes the time to get back to the common man and have a talk about the problems of today.  I cannot support a leader who is to afraid to stand up for me, just because I am young, because I am borderline poverty or because I have my own opinion.  Until the leaders of the free world can understand that Generation Y is a force to be reckoned with, the same things will continue to happen in this country and we will get nowhere.  I don’t know about you out there, but I will not be led by the nose.

I don’t know where that came from, but it sure feels good to have it off my chest.  Anywho, love y’all and have a great night.
